Color of Violence Virtual Book Group

Hi everyone,

The sistas from INCITE! DC and a women of color book group in the Bay Area want to have a virtual book group to discuss some sections of the Color of Violence: INCITE! Anthology. This post is just to get you started. You can use the comment link to discuss what you want to talk about first!

If you want to discuss a particular chapter or portion of the book, let me know and I can scan it and make the piece available on the blog in case you don't have a copy of the book.

Also, as a reminder, you can also sign in and put up your own posts. I'll re-send the log in information over our listserv.

Thanks!
Alisa, national steering

Hi there! First off, thanks so much for starting up this blog! It's absolutely beautiful!

second, I can't afford to buy the book at the moment, but I was especially interested in reading the chapter about trans genderism and arab identity?

Also, there has been a critique circulating about by a white woman who said that the anthology aspect was "uneven" or something like that--that there were personal testimonies right next to "somebody's dissertation". I'd love to know what you think of that critique! I want to respond to the woman's critique, but I haven't read the book yet!!
